Head Nurse

We’re on the lookout for a Head Nurse to lead our fabulous nursing team at The Vet Nottingham! This is a fantastic opportunity to join our friendly, well-established team and lead our colleagues in consistently delivering exceptional clinical care and customer service. 

What we’re looking for

We’re looking for someone with a good level of clinical experience who is positive, self-motivated, engaging and keen to support the professional development of all our RVNs, students and VCAs. Our ideal candidate will have the confidence and know-how to introduce new initiatives that will drive excellence in clinical care and team development to nurture the growth of our practice.

Our Head Nurse salary is starting from £32,000 (DOE). The required working pattern is 5 days a week, working 8/10 hour shifts, 1:4 weekends with time back in toil for OOH duty night checks.

You'll get to work in our purpose-built, spacious veterinary practice with the most fantastic facilities and a team who are all passionate about providing the very best care to all animals, day and night. 

In our team, we currently have  6 RVNs and 4 Veterinary Surgeons. We pride ourselves on the training and support we offer to students and we’re delighted to say previous students have joined us on a permanent basis once qualified. We’re constantly working on new initiatives to support skill gaps and we make sure CPD is continuous and happening across all levels in our surgery.

Our colleagues have a broad range of specialities and many of our team are working towards certificates to enhance their clinical skills and the services we’re able to provide. We currently have 2 Vets studying towards certificates in imaging and surgery. Our nursing team are friendly and knowledgeable, with a good mix of qualifying years between them. We’re supported by a strong reception team of 5.
