Seasonal Canine Illness

Our surgeries are experiencing high levels of Seasonal Canine Illness which affects dogs in late summer/autumn and comes on quickly after a walking in wooded areas.

Symptoms to look out for include:

  • Vomiting
  • Diarrhoea
  • Lethargy
  • Loss of appetite
  • Fever
  • Shaking or trembling
  • Abdominal pain
  • Rash on legs and belly

Although unknown to what causes the illness there are possible links to harvest mites.

So if your dog displays any of the signs above shortly after returning home from a woodland walk please call us and speak to one of our team.
