Group Practice Nurse Emily Bacon achieves a seat on the BVNA council

We’re delighted to share the news that our Group Practice Nurse Emily Bacon has been allocated a full RVN seat on the BVNA (British Veterinary Nursing Association) council. Over the following 3 years, Emily will be supporting the association’s work to champion the voice of the veterinary nursing profession.

With there being only 4 RVN seats available and applications welcomed from all RVN and SVN members of the BVNA, this is a significant achievement. Applications were assessed by a selection panel and shortlisted candidates invited to interview. Emily was allocated her seat following the conduction of this interview.

On achieving her BVNA council seat, Emily says:

“I’m thrilled to have been allocated a seat on the BVNA council and I’m proud to be representing the veterinary nursing profession for the duration of my 3-year tenure. I’m passionate about clinical development, personal growth, and mental wellbeing, ensuring RVNs feel supported and confident as they advance in their careers. This is reflected in a project I’m currently spearheading at The Pet Vet to launch a Newly Qualified RVN Development Programme.

“It’s an incredibly exciting time to be part of the BVNA, with the prospect of being included in pivotal changes within the nursing profession. I feel privileged to contribute during such a transformative period. During my time on the council, I hope to make many valuable contributions to support all the hard-working, passionate RVNs in my profession.”
