The Pet Vet Lincoln achieve Blue Paw accreditation

We're over the moon to share the news that The Pet Vet Lincoln are officially Blue Paw accredited, as assessed by the Veterinary Osteoarthritis Alliance (VOA).

The VOA Affiliation Scheme has been created to help the owners of pets with osteoarthritis (OA) find a veterinary practice in their area that has a particular interest in the management of animal OA. Blue Paw status is awarded to individuals that have undertaken and passed the VOA’s online training. This has been completed by our Head Vet Dr James Cook VetMB BA MRCVS (pictured alongside Head Nurse Claire Pennel).

On achieving this accreditation, James says: “We’re delighted to be one of only 59 practices in the UK that have achieved Blue Paw accreditation. This award allows us to stand out as a practice that advocates and provides high level knowledge and care for patients with mobility issues such as osteoarthritis.”

At our Lincoln surgery, James provides a new orthobiologic treatment to support the treatment of pets with inflammatory conditions that affect joints, such as osteoarthritis. This is in the form of platelet-rich plasma injections, which involves using a pet’s own blood to reduce inflammation and prolong longevity of diseased joints. In addition to assisting in the treatment of inflammatory conditions, it can also support bone regeneration after a fracture.

If you have any concerns about osteoarthritis or your pet’s mobility, please don’t hesitate to book an appointment with our team. We can also accept referrals for treatment – please email lincoln@thepetvet.co.uk or call 01522 458895.
