Senior Veterinary Surgeon - Rotherham

£50K – £65K Dependent on experience

Are you an experienced veterinary surgeon with a minimum of 4 years experience? Are you looking for a new challenge and the opportunity to share your hard-won knowhow within a team of like-minded veterinarians, while further developing your own skills?

Are you looking for the rewarding environment and clinical freedom of a top independent practice?

We are an independent companion animal group based in Yorkshire, with three beautiful purpose-built, self-contained surgeries. Our continued growth means we are now seeking an experienced veterinarian to head up our established 3 vet team at our bright, spacious air-conditioned facility in Rotherham.

Rotherham is situated in South Yorkshire, with easy access to beautiful countryside and within 5 miles of the bustling city of Sheffield, itself close to the edge of the Peak District.  With great transport links, the town is within an hour’s drive of Leeds, York and Nottingham, with easy access to Doncaster, Leeds, and East Midlands airports.

You will have a solid grounding in delivering clinical care in a first opinion environment, and possess the natural communication and leadership skills required to guide and motivate the veterinary team.  You will be promoting our ethos of high standards and driving clinical excellence and outstanding client service throughout all aspects of the organisation.

You will be welcomed and made to feel at home by our Senior Nurse, Sophie, backed up by her dedicated and caring team of 3 experienced RVNs and 2 SVNS, and by our Senior Customer Care Assistant, Lauren, with her 4-strong friendly and helpful reception crew.  And vets Niall and Oscar are very much looking forward to working with you.

You will also be well supported at all times by our roving 10 year qualified Head Vet, Niamh – as well as by our Group Practice Manager, Laura, and Clinical Services Manager Donna, an RVN of some 15 years experience.

As a key member of this experienced and bonded team, you will be able to influence and shape the development and growth of the Rotherham surgery, at the same time developing and honing your own clinical and management skills – in a very friendly and enjoyable environment.

Facilities at Rotherham include 6 well-equipped consult rooms, 2 op theatres, separate cat and dog wards and waiting areas, digital processing, ultrasound, air dental and Abaxis laboratory equipment.

  • Average working week of 38 hours

  • Very competitive salary
  • Funded CPD
  • RCVS membership
