Catch up with the latest news and updates from around our surgeries.
The sky’s the limit for Vets and Nurses who want to grow their careers with us. In addition to a market-leading salary and a range of work patterns that genuinely offer a life balance, our clinical team are offered a fantastic package of discretionary benefits. Colleagues have been funded to volunteer overseas, have access to many enhanced assistance, loyalty and recognition schemes; and many members of the team have either achieved or are working towards certificates in areas they feel passionate about. This includes Dr Linda Kenwell, who joined The Pet Vet Rotherham after graduating in 2021, and has since achieved her certificate in Ophthalmology and was internally promoted to Head Vet this year. On working at The Pet Vet, Linda says: “I’m proud to be part of a group that values growth, innovation and excellence in patient care.”
As well as investing in skill development, there’s significant investment in facilities and equipment, to support our colleagues in doing what they do best. Throughout our group, in addition to the basics, facilities include in every surgery: a dental suite, x-ray (including dental x-ray), ultrasound, tonometry and Idexx lab. In Liverpool, our surgery also benefits from endoscopic and orthopaedic equipment. In Rotherham, the surgery benefits from a 128-slice CT scanner, orthopaedic equipment and cardiac imaging capability. The surgeries themselves are purpose-built, modern and spacious, with the highest design specification, making them a pleasure to work in.
We’re a proudly independent group, and maintaining this independence and family values is central to our ethos. Owner and founder Dr Rob Jones MRCVS is resolute in his desire for The Pet Vet to remain in his family for generations to come, bucking the trend of corporatisation, as highlighted in the ongoing Competition & Markets Authority review. Rob says: “We want to continue to grow, because with size comes the ability to invest in people and the latest technology; and with independence comes the flexibility and freedom for each surgery to perform to its true potential, serving the needs of its own local community. So we will uncompromisingly remain a family-owned business. Always. I would encourage anyone looking to take the next step in their career to view our latest opportunities.”
